Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user’s terminal, where they are stored and then sent back to those same websites on the next visit. This notice describes which cookies are used on this website and for what purpose, and supplements the information notice on the processing of personal data.
1. Cookies used by this website
This website uses one cookie only, technical in nature, and only within the members’ area of the Historical Archive. Those consulting the public pages of the website receive no cookie at all.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
fglg_area |
To keep a user who has signed in to the members’ area recognised for the duration of their consultation. It contains only a random identifier, meaningless outside this website, and no personal data. | Session: deleted when the browser is closed, and in any case lapsing after two hours of inactivity and after twelve hours in total. | Technical, first-party |
2. Why no consent is requested
Under article 122(1) of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the Italian Personal Data Protection Code) and the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Italian data protection authority on 10 June 2021, technical cookies necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user do not require the data subject’s consent. Since this website uses only the technical cookie described in point 1, no consent banner is presented.
3. What this website does not use
The website does not use:
- profiling, marketing or advertising cookies;
- statistical analysis or traffic measurement tools, whether its own or third-party;
- third-party cookies of any kind;
- content embedded from other websites (videos, maps, forms, sharing buttons), which would entail cookies being set by the respective providers;
- typefaces or other resources called from external servers: every resource used is hosted on this same server;
- other storage technologies on the user’s terminal, such as local storage, session storage or equivalent identifiers.
4. Links to external websites
Some pages contain links to third-party websites, such as the personal pages of Award winners, video recordings of the ceremonies and the profiles of the Fondazione ing. Lino Gentilini - ETS on social networks. These links open in a new window and involve no exchange of data until they are followed. Once the destination website is reached, the user is subject to that website’s cookie and personal data policies, over which the Fondazione ing. Lino Gentilini - ETS has no control.
5. How to manage cookies
Users may block or delete cookies at any time through their browser settings. Instructions are found in the documentation of the browser in use, generally under “Privacy” or “Site settings”.
Please note that blocking the cookie described in point 1 makes the members’ area impossible to use: without it the website cannot recognise the user from one page to the next and the sign-in cannot be maintained. Consultation of the public pages is in no way affected.
6. Amendments to this notice
This notice may be updated should the website come to use tools other than those described here. The date of the latest update is given at the foot of the page.
